The Case of the Broken Lamp

A broken lamp, a mystery to be solved. A young boy looks to solve the puzzle in this pastiche on film noir which served as the thesis film for Alberto Beguerie at Ringling College of Art and Design.  It’s a beautifully put together short which belies the fact that working in black and white to recreate the look and feel of noir is actually rather difficult!

If you are a budding animator it would be a great idea if you went over to Alberto’s blog to find out more about the creative process from one who has been through it.  As well as character tests and random drawings you will get an insight in to the process of creating a three minute animated short.
