Imaginary Sam
Lots of children have imaginary friends but surely, hardly any of them could be as much fun as Imaginary Sam, the eponymous hero of this super animated short by Darren Bell. He can change himself in to any creature his friend, Audrey, imagines.
Yet for Audrey, growing up means leaving Sam behind and he finds himself in what must be the limbo for imaginary friends. What future, then, for Imaginary Sam?
This is a 2D hand drawn animation which was produced in 2010. It was animated in Toon Boom Studio on a Wacom Intuos3. It was composited in After Effects, edited in Final Cut Pro. Not surprisingly, it received the Best Story award at the 2011 Victorian Student Animation Festival.
