The power of reading is rarely given a chance to spread its wings and become a visual metaphor but this animated short by Matthias Zentner does just that – showing a woman through four stages of her life and how reading (poetry especially) has an effect on her imagination.

I particularly like the part where the books escape from the bird cage, but everything about this is quite beautiful.

Although this is a TV ad, it is from the Ukraine and Kuriositas does not have many readers from there and so this can’t be seen as a plug for the channel, the name of which appears at the end.

Without the money behind the advertiser it is unlikely this would ever have been made, it must be said.
