In The Shadow
In The Shadow is an interesting – if bizarre – homage to the film noir of the forties and fifties. The lighting of those old black and white films is what really marked them out as works of art, the play of light and shadow an important feature of their whole tone.
So, it is with some irony then that this tells the story of a shadow, skillfully interweaving scenes from many famous (and some much less so) movies. The shadow has led a life of being stuck to his human wearer whose crimes have disgusted and alienated the shadow. So, the shadow formulates a plan that will rid him of his wearer once and for all.
It doesn’t stop there either! This is a truly inventive piece of filmmaking by Fabrice Mathieu.
