The Day the Saucers Came – Neil Gaiman

On the day that the saucers came a number of things happened.  Yet one person did not notice the arrival of the saucers or in fact any of the strange and bewildering things that went on during that day of all days.

You may or may not appreciate the poem (huh?) but think of it this way.  Try to include the day the aliens landed, the zombie apocalypse, Ragnarok and any number of other strange goings on in a poem and if you can make it make sense (as Gaiman does) then you are very, very clever.
