The Rite of Youth

You might not guess at first that this enigmatic piece of animation is made with Adobe Flash (I would have thought After Effects given its sophistication) but you will be impressed.  A small mysterious space vessel undertakes its mission.  Yet what that mission consists of is left pretty much to our own imagination.

You may find it (as I did) reminiscent of certain parts of 2001: A Space Odyssey.  If you enjoyed that movie then you will probably like this too.

What I particularly like about this animation is that the viewer is left to his/her own imagination – something which is quite difficult to get away with (if it is done purposefully) when it comes to animation which is more often than not a gateway in to the imagination of the maker rather than the audience.
